The color is a rich yellow green or bright citron color with the jar having subtle amber striations throughout. We took several pics of the jar in different lighting conditions to give you an idea of the color and the striations. The jar is a quart size. The embossing reads and has a Unusual Cross Mason's S Patent 1858.
The jar does not have the usual strong embossing but it is very readable. The base is embossed with a C3 or C8. The jar is untouched and has not been dug nor cleaned or altered in any way it just came out of a basement at a local estate sale. The lip of the jar is ground and the jar has a standard zinc lid. The condition is nice with no chips, cracks, stains or heavy wear.
Again the jars embossing is weaker than some Mason jars but it is very readable. The jar does have some inner and outer spotty usage scratches when held to strong light.
The ground lip is slightly rough and the base does have some outer base wear. We have not seen this jar in this coloration in this particular mold.
