STUNNING RARE OLD 17th / 18th C HAND HEWN EARLY PRIMITIVE DINING CHAIR SET OF FOUR. This striking set of chairs is what I would call ultra primitive because they just don't come more primitive than this. Every piece hand hewn and pegged together epitomizing the primitive nature of the early colonial period. Each chair has its own uniqueness due to their handmade construction. Two purposely have slightly larger seats and would have been the side chairs to the table and the other two would have been end chairs to a rectangular shape table. I refreshed them with a little beeswax and the early wood grain showing in just outstanding. I would say they are in very nice condition for their age and the only thing i will mention is that one chair has a little slight play when sat on and moving around and this could be remedied a number of ways, one being repegging in the problem spot. This set is even so much better in person and anybody that has seen them has complimented them. If your a true primitive lover than you will absolutely love this set of chairs.
Chair height range from 42''- 43'', two seats measure 23 1/2'' wide and the other two are 20 1/2'' wide. Seat height of all four are 18 3/4'' high.
